Data protection (GDPR)

Consent to the processing of personal data

For the module “Logbook” the following data will be stored: first name, last name, e-mail address, student ID number (if given), as well as the case documentation and overview lists you upload or fill in. The data is used exclusively for reviewing and assessing your practical training by the responsible lecturer of the module.

The data will not be passed on to third parties and will be deleted after completion of the module or after the retention periods required by examination regulations. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future and have the right to access, rectify and erase your data.

  • The “Name” field on the handwritten documentation sheet may contain only an abbreviation or pseudonym (e.g. “P01” or “M.K.”).
  • No full date of birth – only the age or year of birth.
  • Check your document before uploading. Uploads showing real names will be deleted.

Privacy Policy (Datenschutzerklärung)

Controller: Georg Scheuerer, Wacholderweg 2, 84416 Taufkirchen, Germany, email@optik-scheuerer.de – the lecturer of the module “Logbook”.

Purpose and legal basis: Registration data (name, e-mail, student ID) and the uploaded case documentation are processed solely to review and assess practical training in the module “Logbook”. Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR), given at registration; for health-related content in pseudonymised case documentation additionally Art. 9 (2) a GDPR.

Hosting: The application is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, in data centres in Germany, on the basis of a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Server log files (IP address, time, requested page) are stored by the host for security purposes.

Storage period: Data is deleted after completion of the module, at the latest 12 months after the last upload, or earlier upon withdrawal of consent (deletion of the account under “My Profile”).

Your rights: Access, rectification, erasure, restriction and a copy of your data (on request by e-mail to the controller), withdrawal of consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. LfDI Baden-Württemberg).

No real patient names: Users are obliged to upload only pseudonymised case documentation. Uploads containing real names are deleted.
